Peak District Inspired Kitchen Extension, Sheffield

Moss green stained plywood and steamed beech kitchen in Sheffield by From Works and Ma-kon.

From Works was approached to create a new kitchen rear extension for a family home near Encliffe Park in Sheffield. The project a creates an open, generous kitchen whilst maintaining a clear connection to the garden through large sliding doors. A photograph of a moss covered rock from a countryside walk formed the client's inspiration and the kitchen material palette engages with the rich as found materiality of the near by Peak District.

The kitchen was designed and created in collaboration with our custom contemporary kitchen studio, Ma-kon, allowing us to bring holistic design vision and built quality at every level to the project.

The distinct kitchen and joinery is hand made from stained birch plywood, steamed beech with fossil limestone worktops and splash back sourced from a Derbyshire quarry. The project is featured within Dezeen and the Architects Journal.
